First UK edition under the title The Martian Chronicles. Previously published in the UK in a slightly different form as The Silver Locusts. Twelvemo. 224 pages. Publisher's red paper over boards with blue titles on the spine. Dust jacket. Minor shelf wear, previous owner's signature on the front free endpaper, and some toning to textblock. Dust jacket has a sunned spine, with a small .75 inch portion missing at the spine head, a very small closed tear at the bottom of the front panel and lightly worn corners. Overall, an about very good copy. [and:] Fahrenheit 451. The Science Fiction Book Club by arrangement with Rupert Hart-Davis, [1955]. Second UK edition. Twelvemo. 158 pages. Publisher's green cloth with violet titles on the spine. Dust jacket. Housed in a red cloth slipcase. Light edge wear, one small stain on the spine, with moderate toning at the edges of the textblock. Dust jacket shows scattered staining, mild rubbing, light edge wear, and minimal chipping around the spine ends and corners. Overall, an about very good copy.
