A Nearly Complete Collection of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Works in First Edition, Many in Original Dust Jackets
Edgar Rice Burroughs. Works. [Various places: publishers,
dates]. First editions. Fifty-four volumes. Thirty-three titles
in original publisher's dust jackets. Bindings with some
rubbing, wear and soiling. Several titles with previous owner's
signatures. Text is generally good, with a few with tears or
creases. Jackets are generally good, although three (Tanar of
Pellucidar, Tarzan and the Ant Men, Tarzan and the Leopard Men)
are price-clipped, and many have tears, chips (some with very large
chips), and a few have tape repairs to verso. Twenty four of twenty
seven Tarzan titles (lacking Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle,
Tarzan Twins and Jad-Bal-Ja, and Tarzan the Lost
Adventure - also lacking the extra Tarzan titles: Tarzan
Clans and Tarzan, Jr.) All eleven Mars Books
present. Five out of Six Pellucidar books present (lacking
Savage Pellucidar), Two out of five Venus books (lacking
Pirates of Venus, Lost on Venus, and Tales of Three
Planets). This collection has twelve miscellaneous titles (see
below). All titles are first printings where called-for, except for
Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar (second printing), and both
copies of Mad King (one is a second state, the other is a
third state). Overall, a good collection.Titles include: Tarzan of the Apes, The Return of Tarzan, The Beasts of Tarzan, The Son of Tarzan, Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar (with jacket), Jungle Tales of Tarzan, Tarzan the Untamed (with jacket), Tarzan the Terrible, Tarzan and the Golden Lion, Tarzan and the Ant Men (with jacket), Tarzan and the Tarzan Twins (with jacket, Canaveral Press), Tarzan and the Lost Empire (restored jacket), Tarzan at the Earth's Core (with jacket), Tarzan the Invincible, Tarzan Triumphant (with jacket), Tarzan and the City of Gold (with jacket), Tarzan and the Lion Man, Tarzan and the Leopard Men (with jacket), Tarzan's Quest (with jacket), Tarzan and the Forbidden City (with jacket), Tarzan the Magnificent (with jacket), Tarzan and the Foreign Legion (with jacket), Tarzan and the Madman (with jacket, Canaveral Press), Tarzan and the Castaways (with jacket, Canaveral Press).
