Presentation copy. A highly significant presentation copy: Ellery Queen to James Keddie, Jr., son of the founder of the Boston Chapter of Thee Baker Street Irregulars, James Keddie, Senior. In addition to signing this copy, Ellery Queen pens a charming inscription: To Jim Keddie-a repeat in a good cause! "E. Q." James Keddie, Senior died suddenly and quite unexpectedly in early 1943. In April 1943, James Keddie, Junior was elected Cheetah of The Speckled Band of Boston, the only officer position in the Club in those days.
