Manuscript Psalter on Vellum

Psalter, in Latin. [N.p.: n.d. ca. 1475].

Manuscript on vellum. Large folio (21.125 x 14.125 inches; 513 x 362 mm.) [130] leaves. Early ink foliation beginning with "2". Written in dark brown and red ink in a gothic bookhand on vellum leaves and five paper leaves. Three large (three-line, four-line, and five-line) opening initials in colors (red, orange, green, pink, blue, and yellow), seventy-four three-line initials in red and/or blue, some with pink or yellow, fifty-four two-line initials in red or blue, some with decoration in the opposite color, one-line initials in red and blue. Some capitals touched yellow. Hymns and antiphons with music of square notation on four-line staves. "Tabula" on leaf 112 verso.

Old leather over wooden boards with brass centerpieces and cornerpieces, with bosses. Reversed vellum indexing tabs on the edges of the leaves. The binding is worn and cracked. Many leaves yellowed or stained, many with edge repairs.
