Dashiell Hammett. Group of Ten Paperback Originals. [New York: Lawrence A. Spivak and others, 1943-1962]. First editions, with a duplicate copy of Dead Yellow Women and an additional third edition of The Continental Op. Together, twelve volumes; digest size, typically octavo or octavo in sixteens (generally 7.5 x 5.5 inches; 190 x 137 mm. or slightly smaller). Various paginations. Publisher's perfect bindings in the original printed wrappers; all edges trimmed. Some spines gently leaning, rolled or creased; a few joints a little worn; trace light edgewear, some minor creasing; varying degrees of soiling, usually negligible but sometimes light. Some page edges a little scuffed, an occasional title with closed tears or minor corner chips; a few texts somewhat tanned and slightly brittle, most are still supple. Generally very good or better, a couple titles quite nice. Housed together in a chemise and custom slipcase. Title list available online.
