Inscribed and signed by Veblen on the front free endpaper, reading: "Notations and typographical / errors checked by / T. B. Veblen." Veblen hand-corrected a handful of pages with notations in the fore-edge margin. Octavo. 183 pages. Publisher's blue cloth with black spine titles and a paper title label affixed to the front cover. Some staining to the boards, with noticeable abrading to the board edges. Spine darkened. Very good. Mildred Bennett's ownership signature and blind-stamp. Bennett was a close associate and conjectured as a possible lover of Veblen's.
