Adam Smith. An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. London: Printed for W. Strahan; and T. Cadell, 1778.4to. Vol. I [of two] only. Later gray paper-covered boards, spine and corners with coated paper.
SECOND EDITION of "the first and greatest classic of modern economic thought" (PMM).
Condition: Scattered soiling to boards, corners bumped and rubbed, spine beginning to perish, endpapers renewed, rear hinge cracked but holding. Title page and final leaf soiled and rubbed, hole in title page affecting the 'a' in 'An.' Some foxing throughout, scattered marginal pencil annotations. A few small holes in the margins, not affecting text.
