Two 4to volumes. 704; 714pp. Frontispiece, many full-page portraits, index. Bound in three-quarter leather over buckram-covered boards. Gilt lettering to spines. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Modest shelf wear to boards with some abrasions to the corners and edges; slightly faded spine panels. Contents clean and tight. A handsome set in very good condition.Captain Buckley Burton Paddock was a business and civic leader and a four-term mayor of Fort Worth. He produced several multi-volume regional Texas histories, the present set being rather scarcer than others. Topics include the Peters Colony, histories of Fort Worth and El Paso, with numerous biographies of the prominent ranchers, businessmen, and pioneers of the region.
