With a Large and Accurate Map of Oregon and California, Compiled from the Latest Authorities. Philadelphia: Thomas, Cowperthwait & Co., 1849. Second edition. Twelvemo. 76 pages. With eleven wood-engraved text illustrations and the large hand-colored folding map (struck from the same plate used to print Mitchell's 1846 map by the same title, but with additional detail). Original dark brown morocco decoratively embossed in gilt and blind. Marbled wrappers to text. White front endpapers; salmon rear endpapers. Housed in a custom cloth box. Spine and edges rubbed. Corners bumped. Minor foxing to text. Mild toning to the map, with two very small instances of fold separation, and verso toning from the brown coloring. A clean copy in very good condition.
