8vo. Publisher's black cloth and gray paper-covered boards, spine and front board stamped in gilt; original dust jacket; quarter morocco slipcase.

FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR on the front free endpaper: "To Mrs S B Grimson / In appreciation for your / genuine goodwill, your great / humanitarian concern and your / consistent support. / Martin Luther King Jr." First printing with publisher's code "D-N" on copyright page.

While we are unable to identify exactly who Mrs. S. B. Grimson might have been, the Robert W. Woodruff Library at the Atlanta University Center has in its collection a letter from Dr. King to Mrs. S. B. Grimson, dated May 5, 1967.

Condition: Corners bumped; light sunning to boards; adhesive residue to rear board. Minor foxing and slight offsetting to endpapers. Dust jacket unclipped (priced "$3.50"), scuffed and rubbed; some edgewear with a few minor chips and short tears; a little offsetting to front flap; light toning and a few spots.
