Description
Agatha Christie. The ABC Murders. London: Crime Club, Collins, [1936]. First edition. Poetically inscribed by the author and signed with her initials to the front free endpaper recto, "Once again a tale's submitted / to a critic who's most fitted / to exclaim 'This seems to me / just as plain as A.B.C.' / A.C." Octavo. 252, [4, advertisements] pages. Publisher's orange cloth, spine lettered in black; lacking dust jacket. First serialized in abridged forms in Cosmopolitan Magazine (US, 1935) and the Daily Express (UK, 1935).Condition: Skewed, corners bumped and rubbed, moderate edgewear, lower joint starting, head and foot of spine pushed, spine sunned and worn, rubbed, scattered soiling and dampstaining. Cream endpapers; toned, light dampstaining to top margins. Internally generally clean; somewhat foxed, some gutters overextended, light scattered soiling. Very good.
