[Edward Everett Hale]. The Man Without a Country. Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1865. First edition, first issue (without the publisher's announcement slip).
Only preceded in print by the 1863 magazine appearance in The Atlantic Monthly. Small octavo. 23, [1, blank] pages. Publisher's printed salmon wrappers. Some wear to wrappers at spine, some edgewear, soiling to wrappers, mild occasional wear to text. Very good. Chemised in quarter brown morocco slipcase. With four small autograph notes signed by Hale laid-in (each is folded and creased with some wear).
