Description
William G. Fargo Signed Stock Certificate. One partially printed page, 11 x 9 1/2 inches, New York; February 4, 1869.Fifty shares of the American merchants Union Express Company purchased by "H. W. Maxwell of N. Y." at $100 per share. Signed, "Wm G. Fargo" as President. Countersigned by J. N. Knapp as Secretary and E. P. Ross as Treasurer. Cut cancellations at center of document and signatures. On the verso, a printed statement for the appointment of an attorney to act on behalf of the stockholder.
Condition: Light creasing, mostly confined to the edges. Staple holes at left margin. Trimmed at right edge, cutting off some text.
