More Information:

Dear Mrs. Deland

I know the dear old Doctor so well, and really meet him so often I am delighted to have your book with details of some of his friend's doings. I see in America, & I've met him in England & in my wife's expressive Chicago phraseology 'he is a darling.'

Thanks ever so much for the inscription in the beginning of the book - as it is a real pleasure to have a token of friendship from the creator of so charming a personality. The little piece of philosophy too is entirely my own, though I know I learnt a good deal of it from Dr. Lavendar himself.

As a missionary in another line, & yet the same line, I want to heartily thank you for the book.

Sincerely your

Friend Wilfred Grenfell"
