Description

William Henry Harrison Autograph Document Signed. One page, 8.25" x 4.25", Greeneville; March 26, 1794. During the final months of the Northwest Indian War, Harrison requests rations for his scouts: "The Contractors will please to issue to the Chickasaws twenty Rations of flour & meat. Wm H. Harrison A d C." Harrison was serving as Anthony Wayne's aide de camp at the time. Just five months later, Wayne's troops would be victorious at the Battle of Fallen Timbers; and the following year, the Treaty of Greenville would be signed, opening up a great portion of Ohio for settlement.

Condition: With uneven margins, light toning and foxing. Moderate wear, otherwise fine. Docket on verso in an unknown hand. A few ink smudges. A small tear at top left of document affecting the "T" in "The", has been repaired with cloth tape on verso.
