Ulysses S. Grant: Signed Appointment. Ulysses S. Grant document signed as President, appointing George L. Williams to Deputy Postmaster in Carrollton, Illinois. With bold "U.S. Grant" signature at lower right. Dated 27 January 1871, with intact cream colored Great Seal at lower left. Paper document measures 17 3/4" x 11 1/2".Condition: Tape reinforcement at folds on the verso, light age. Overall fine.
