Description

Ulysses S. Grant Note Signed "U.S. Grant Lt. Gen.". One page, 7.25" x 4.25", Washington, D.C.; May 20, 1865. A short note by the future president that reads, "Mrs. Southwich 2028 Chesnut St., Phila. I could not secure the rooms at Willards for your father." The note is mounted along its left vertical edge to a larger page, measuring 9.5" x 5.5" overall.

Condition: Light toning at the edges, with a small area of repaired paper at the left vertical edge. The paper appears to have had a small tear. Else good.
