Description

Thomas Jefferson and James Madison Document Signed. One partially-printed vellum page, 13.25" x 11", Washington, July 15, 1805. Document appointing "William Patterson of New York...Commercial Agent...for the port of Nantz in France." Boldly signed "Th. Jefferson" as president and "James Madison" as Secretary of State, with a blind embossed paper seal.

Condition: Lightly toned along edges, slight creasing around paper seal, flattened vertical and horizontal folds. Signatures are bold and clear.
