Description

Theodore Roosevelt Autograph Note Signed. One page, 4.5" x 6.75". June 1, [1895]. A brief note: "After this please send the proof to me at the Police Commissioner's, 300 Mulberry St. [signed] Theodore Roosevelt." Roosevelt served as police commissioner from 1895 to 1897. He is likely referring about a proof for his book, Hero Tales from American History, (co-authored with Henry Cabot Lodge) which was published in 1895. From the Estate of Malcolm S. Forbes.
Condition: Uneven left margin, where it was torn from an integral page. Some toning, and irregular folds, which are now flattened.
