Description
Millard Fillmore Order to Affix-the-Seal Document Signed. One page, partially printed, the remainder completed in manuscript, 8 x 8 inches, Washington, August 9, 1850. The document reads, in part: "Affix the seal of the United States to the envelope of a letter addressed to Queen Victoria in answer to one received from Her Majesty announcing the death of her uncle the Duke of Cambridge..." Signed, "Millard Fillmore." Docketed on the verso.Condition: Boldly signed by Fillmore, trivial toning, old smoothed fold creases with old mounting remnants on the verso.
