Description

Mary Todd Lincoln Autograph Letter Twice Signed. Two integral pages, 7" x 5.5", [Chicago], December 20, 1867. Marked "Private," the former First Lady sends a short letter regarding a dress, in full: "Enclosed is the Express receipt, also ten dollars which please accept for the making of the dress &&. An answer is requested, whether the box, money, && has been received. Oblige Mrs. Lincoln." On the second page, she gives her address and signs a second time, "Mrs. A. Lincoln's address is 460 West Washington Dr. Chicago, Ill." Heavily stained along the folds making some of the text difficult to read, but not affecting the signatures.
