Martin Van Buren Naval Appointment Signed. One partially printed page of vellum, 12 3/8 x 8 inches, Washington, D.C.; June 22, 1837. Appoints "Enoch G. Parrot...Passed Midshipman in the Navy of the United States, from the 15th of June 1837." Signed, "M Van Buren." Countersigned by Mahlon Dickerson as Secretary of the Navy. With blind embossed seal at lower left.Condition: Moderate uneven toning with flattened folds. A touch of loss at the bottom left corner, not affecting text.
