Description

Martin Van Buren: Four Languages Ship's Papers Signed. 16 1/4" x 20 1/4", June 4, 1839. Issued in French, Spanish, English and Dutch to "Clark Estes master or commander of the ship Gold Hunter of the burden of 281 34/95 tons, or thereabouts, lying at present in the port of Fall River bound for South Atlantic and laden with provisions, staves and utensils for a Whaling Voyage". Signed by martin Van Buren and Secretary of State John Forsyth. Original seal at center present.


Condition: Folds as typical, light edge wear. Bold clear signatures.
