Description
Martha Washington Signature with Letter of Family Provenance. Mrs. Washington's signature, which measures 2.5" x .5" and reads simply "M Washington," accompanies a short 7.25" x 2.75" letter, dated 1852 and reading, in full: "Autographs of Mrs. Martha Washington for G. Washington Lewis his Great Great Grand Mother left by his Grand Mother E. P. Lewis." A small note at the left corner identifies the author of the letter as G. Washington Lewis' own mother, E. W.
