John Tyler Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 4.75" x 7", "Sherwood Forest [Virginia]," October 21, 1860, sending his autograph to a collector who has requested it. Wrinkling, especially at the edges, due to adhesive residue on the verso. Else fine. Tyler tried to avoid Civil War by chairing a peace convention with delegates from both north and south, but to no avail.Auction Info
