Cecil William Stoughton (1920–2008) was an American photographer best known for serving as the first official White House photographer during the administration of President John F. Kennedy. Stoughton's tenure at the White House is particularly notable for his candid and intimate photographs of the Kennedy family. Among his most famous works is the photograph of Lyndon B. Johnson taking the oath of office aboard Air Force One following President Kennedy's assassination on November 22, 1963.
Images signed by both Kennedy and Johnson are exceptionally scarce. One with such an important association to the esteemed White House photographer is especially desirable.
Condition: Slight ink smudging in Kennedy's signature; otherwise excellent condition.
