James Monroe Document Signed as president. One page, docketing on the verso, 13.5" x 9.25, December 15, 1823, Washington, D.C., partially printed on vellum. The document is toned and soiled with some insect damage at the folds, else very good. The signature is bold and clear.

More Information:

The document is a General Land Office Warrant transferring 160 acres in Arkansas Territory to Stephen Storrs, formerly a corporal in [Captain Samuel] Haring's Company of the Thirteenth Regiment of Infantry, for his service in the War of 1812. During the War of 1812 the Thirteenth Infantry took part in a series of long engagements. Most of these battles took place in the Niagara Frontier, culminating in the war's final Battle of Plattsburgh.
