The check reads, "Mr. Smith will please deliver Mr. [?] one hundred & twenty dollars to acct of - Jas Monroe". Written in another hand vertically along the left edge, "J. Monroe/ OH 149".
Included is an equally sized slip with "[?] Smith Esqr." written in the center; with cancellation "X"s.
