Description

James Madison: Four Languages Ship's Papers Signed. 16 1/4" x 20 3/4", Boston, Ma., March 30, 1809. Issued in French, Spanish, English and Dutch to "Stephen D. Turner master or commander of the Brig called Pilot of the burthen of 120 tons or thereabouts, lying at present in the port of Boston bound for Fayul and laden with Cotton, Rice, Staves Tar and tobacco". Signed by President Madison.

Condition: Edge wear, toning and light stains. Residue around edges from prior framing. Madison signature bold and dark.
