James Garfield Check Signed as President. 8" x 3.25", Washington, D.C.; June 16, 1881. Riggs & Co. check made payable to Tyssowski Bros. for $15.50. It was signed a mere two weeks before the President was shot by Charles. J. Guiteau. Typographical borders with vignette of Riggs Bank. Window mounted and signed as President, "James Garfield." COA from John Reznikoff and University Archives included.Condition: Pencil notation on verso.
