Description

George Washington Document Signed "G. Washington." Two pages, 8.25" x 13.75", Headquarters of the Forces of the United States of America, nd. It is a discharge for Corporal George Allyson of the First New York Regiment after seven years and three months of service in the Army. The document also states that Allyson will receive the Badge of Merit for his service. The document is signed by Washington, Trumbell, and Byek.
The document is in very good condition; usual folds are present; water damage stains on front of letter; soiling present along fold lines; has been silked in the past and several repairs made to small holes near center of document with tissue paper. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
