Description

George Washington and Thomas Jefferson Document Signed. One partially-printed vellum page, 14.5" x 12", Philadelphia, March 8, 1792. Document appoints "Zachariah Rhodes of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations...Inspector of the Revenue for the Port of Patuxet." Boldly signed "G Washington" and "Th. Jefferson", with blind embossed paper seal. Washington was elected for a second term just eight months later.

Condition: Toned throughout, with flattened folds. Minimal soiling, folds have created weakness with minor separations resulting.
