This portrait of a youthful FDR includes the pencil signature "Van Dyke / London" written on the mount below the image. FDR's inscription reads (in full): To my friend / Carleton B. McCulloch / Franklin D. Roosevelt / 1926". Carleton B. McCulloch of Indianapolis was a prominent midwestern Democrat.

A rare 5 x 7" black and white photographic portrait of a youthful looking Franklin D. Roosevelt affixed to a book weight mount to a measurement of 6 ¾ x 9 ¾." This very unique photograph The mount appears to be book weight. FDR inscribes the photograph in the lower left corner: "For my friend/ Carlaton B. McCulloch/ Franklin D. Roosevelt/ 1926." In the lower right corner of the photograph is an original photographer's signature, VanDyke/ London. All the writing below the photograph, by both FDR and the photographer, is bold, double matted and framed to an overall size of 13 ½ x 16 ½." Carlaton B. McCulloch of Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, was a prominent mid-western Democrat and delegate to the Democratic National Convention from Indiana.
