It includes five for you and five for each one of the children. We expect to spend a very quiet Xmas. The days are busy enough at best. Tonight is the first night u at /u home for over two weeks. With much love to you all and best wishes for a Happy Christmas and all that is good in the coming New Year. I am lovingly yours, Mother." Flattened folds, toning, and smudges. With original transmittal envelope, that is lightly soiled.

Accompanied by an autograph letter signed on mourning stationery. Four pages of a bifolium leaf. 5" x 6.5" [No place, Marion, Ohio]. Written on black-bordered mourning stationery in December, 1923, after President Harding's death the previous August, to her daughter-in-law, it reads: "Dear Esther, The enclosed is a little Christmas remembrance, and to go to you all with my best love and good wishes for a Happy and prosperous New Year. You can make the decision when it comes time for that. I have not been outside of the house since my arrival. Quite a few of my friends have dropped in to see me and I am getting rested. It's rained about every hour since I struck the town. However, I don't mind but it's a little hard on the merchants. But I think it takes more than rain to stop people from spending money. I enjoyed my dinner very much with you that Friday evening. I think Roscoe is a splendid fellow, and you ought to count yourself a very fortunate woman. Of course, I think he might "Jolly" himself too on having such a nice little wife. Don't let Jean go about too much alone. If possible try to be with her. Jean will not be 'crazy' about this kind of a suggestion but after time she will understand. With much love a Merry Christmas. Believe me, Lovingly yours, Mother." Slight toning.

Also included is a signed Christmas card. Color lithographed card with mistletoe and candles image and silk ribbon tie. 5.25" x 4.25" Inscribed and signed, "To Grace, Lovingly, Florence Harding." Dark stain at the lower left corner and lower edge, smudges, and toning. Mounting trace on the verso.

Includes a President and First Lady Christmas card issued by the Harding Memorial Foundation featuring their dog, Caswell Laddie Boy, and a Warren Harding color lithographic postcard bearing a facsimile printed signature.

Condition: Overall fine.
