Description
Chester Arthur Autograph Letter Signed as President. One page on Executive Mansion imprinted bifolium, 3.75" x 6.25"; Washington; "Tuesday 24th April", no year. An uncommon letter as president written to Mrs. John P. Jones: "I accept your kind invitation to join you at the opera tomorrow evening, with much pleasure - and am always very faithfully yours, Chester A. Arthur."Condition: A few ink smudges occurring at the time the letter was written, as well as trace ink ghosting from being stored folded. Flattened mail fold, with light soiling on verso on integral page.
