Abraham Lincoln: Signed Military Appointment. Abraham Lincoln military appointment signed as President, with a bold full signature, "Abraham Lincoln". Lincoln appoints a John F. Caslow as Assistant Quartermaster with the rank of Captain. Dated 6 August 1861. With decorative military vignettes and intact orange paper seal. Vellum document measures 15 3/4"" x 19 3/4".Condition: Folds with one touching the top portion of Lincoln's signature, minor soiling.
