Description
Abraham Lincoln Signature as President. Cut from a document, 8 x 4 inches; Washington; January 7, 1863. Full signature, "Abraham Lincoln," dated six days after he issued the Emancipation Proclamation. Accompanied by an engraving of Lincoln after a painting by Alonzo Chappel.Condition: Irregularly trimmed at top. Flattened folds. Engraving has rough edge at left, where it was removed from a book, and foxing in the margins.
