Lincoln Endorses a Soldier's Discharge Just Two Months Before His Assassination

Abraham Lincoln Note Signed ("A. Lincoln"). Cut slip of lined paper, measuring 2 3/4 x 1 1/2 inches. Signed by Lincoln: "Let this man be discharged / A. Lincoln / Feb 11. 1865." Written just two months before Lincoln's assassination.

Condition: Mounting remnants on verso, resulting in a touch of adhesive staining visible on the recto. Verso edges lined with cello tape. Ink slightly smudged. Fold lines, one passing through Lincoln's signature.
