Abraham Lincoln Carte de Visite Signed "A. Lincoln". 2.5" x 4", O-71, taken by Alexander Gardner in Washington, D.C. on August 9, 1863. Part of a Sunday "photo-shoot" that produced five different portraits (O-70 through 74). The portrait portrays Lincoln loosely holding a newspaper in one hand and his eyeglasses in the other, resting on his lap. Gold ruled borders, with no back stamp on verso. Signed by the President on the lower border below the portrait. Signature is bold.

Condition: Slight wear to the corners, with very minor foxing throughout and on verso. Very fine overall condition.
