Description

Abraham Lincoln Autograph Endorsement Signed. On the back of a one-page letter from Captain C. E. Mink, 9.75" x 7.5" (sight), no place; November 15, 1864. The original letter gives testimony to the character of Richard A. Craig, a soldier in Battery H of the 1st New York Artillery, and endorsing him for future employment. Lincoln responds on the verso of the document in full: "I shall be very glad if this worthy discharged soldier can find just able employment." Signed, "A. Lincoln." Matted and framed to an overall size of 13" x 10.75". Not examined outside of the frame.

Condition: 1.25" closed tear at integral fold. Flatted mail folds with light toning at creases.
