Description

Abraham Lincoln Autograph Endorsement Signed "A. Lincoln." 3.5" x 2.25" (sight), no place; February 27, 1864. A clipped Lincoln endorsement, taken from a larger document, forwarding information on to Edwin Stanton and Henry Halleck. The endorsement reads in full: "Submitted to the Secretary of War, & Genl-in-Chief. A. Lincoln Feb. 27, 1864." Matted and framed along with a lithograph of Lincoln to the overall size of 9" x 13.25".

Two weeks later, Lincoln would replace Halleck with Ulysses S. Grant as General in Chief of all the Union armies.

Condition: Light soiling. Boldly signed by Lincoln.
