Abraham Lincoln Autograph Document Signed "A. Lincoln." One page, 8" x 3.25", No place [Springfield, Illinois]; May 16, 1857. A short document, acknowledging the receipt of money, reading in full: "Received, May 16, 1857, of Joshua F. Amos, administrator of the estate of Nathaniel Hays deceased, two hundred and twenty five dollars, in full of all my demands against said estate." At the time, Lincoln was residing in Springfield, Illinois, practicing law with his partner William Herndon.Condition: With flattened folds. Light soiling throughout. Pencil notation on verso. Clear signature.
