Description
Three Texas Documents: State of Texas Bond, Signed Citizens Contribution Document, and Texas Governor Bell Document Signed. A group of three items, which includes:1865 State of Texas $1,000 Bond. One partially printed page, 9.5" x 7.75", Austin; May 11, 1865. A $1000 bond No. 11, stating that the state is "Indebted to J.T.J. Brady." Signed by Governor Pendleton Murrah, who served as the 10th governor from 1863-65. Light toning and soiling throughout.
Citizens Contribution Fundraising Sheet. Two pages of a bifolium, 7.75" x 12.5", Austin; circa January 1865. A collection of names and donations "In appreciation of the Cattlemen of Texas". The money was to be raised for entertaining members at the next annual meeting on January 16, 1865. With fifty-five citizen names total and donations ranging from $0.50-5.00. Light toning and soiling throughout.
Copy of an 1851 Texas Land Grant. One large page, 16" x 12.5", Austin; April 9, 1851. A true copy of a land grant, No. 334-Vol. 9. Texas Governor J.P.H. Bell grants one third of a League of land in Robertson District, Navarro County, to Charles De'Morse. Signed "J Crosby" as Commissioner of the General Land Office of the State of Texas. Light toning and soiling throughout. Flattened folds and separations to the folds. All proceeds to benefit educational programs at The Bryan Museum.
