Description
Thomas Hutchinson Seal and Signature, "T. Hutchinson". One page, excised from a larger document and mounted on paper, 3.25" x 4.75" (overall), n.d., n.p. The seal is paper-covered red wax with a rampant lion, armed and langued on a field of Bottony Crosses; the whole is topped by a ducal coronet and a crest of a cockatrice. Both the signature and seal are excellent.More Information:
Hutchinson, the last civilian royal governor of colonial Massachusetts from 1771 to 1774, was a prominent Loyalist in the years before the American Revolution and the focus of anti-British anger in Boston.
