Slavery Document A legal document, one page, 8" x 10.75", "County of Colorado", Jan. 27, 1851, being the official court report filed by John F. Miller, as administrator for the estate of James Pinchback, stating that "he has proceeded to advertise and hire out the negro woman 'Clarisa' and her infant child... in obediance to an order of your court". They have been hired out to one G. M. Halgard for a period of twelve months for the sum of $152.00. Signed by Miller, and docketed on verso as filed Jan. 27, 1851. Lightly toned with a single ink spot affecting two words, otherwise near fine.Auction Info
