Description
Sam Houston Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 8 x 9 1/2 inches (sight), "Brown's Hotel," [Washington]; January 19, 1850. Matted and framed alongside an engraving of Houston to an overall size of 24 x 20 1/2 inches. Writing to "Mrs. Carr," Houston offers to assist in securing a cadet's warrant for her son. The letter reads, in full:"I have determined upon a course, which I hope will succeed in procuring for your son, a cadets warrant. I will call up so soon as I can; and if possible before three o clock today to see you. In the meantime, be pleased to have the goodness to send me your sons name." Signed, "Sam Houston."
Condition: Not examined out of frame. Lightly toned with smoothed folds. Minor mat burn at the edges.
