John Ireland Land Grant Signed "Jno Ireland." One partially-printed page, 17" x 13.75", Austin, April 7, 1885, granting to "Rutha [Bertha] A. White assignee of James L. White . . . One Hundred and Twenty seven & 74/100 (127 74/100) acres of Land, situated . . . In Lamar County." Docketed on the verso. Ireland (1827-1896) served in the Confederate Army, reaching the rank of colonel, the Texas House, and briefly on the Texas Supreme Court, before being elected the eighteenth governor of Texas.
