Governor Edmund J. Davis Signed Land Grant. Single oversized sheet, 14.5" x 12.5". Austin; September 7, 1870. A grant of land issued to "Henry Butler & heirs" for 320 acres in Angelina County. A land bounty for service in the army; there is a Henry Butler listed in the military rolls as serving during the Texas Revolution. Docketed on verso as a Bounty. From the Robert E. Davis Collection.Condition: Unevenly toned, with heavy foxing at folds. Gold embossed seal is present.
