Description
George Clinton Military Commission Signed. One partially printed page, 12 3/4 x 8 inches; City of New York; March 5, 1793. Governor George Clinton appoints Abraham Rose to the rank of "Lieutenant...in the Regiment of Militaria, in the County of Suffolk..." Signed "Geo: Clinton" with blind embossed seal at left and countersigned by Lewis A. Scott as Secretary. Framed to an overall size of 17 x 13 inches. Not Examined outside of the frame.Condition: Offset toning along the edges and uneven bottom and right margins. Scattered stains, with visible adhesive where embossed seal has been attached which has partially transferred to the right side of the document. Areas of separation along horizontal folds, with small paper loss at the top of the center fold affecting a single letter in the first line. Document has been taped at all four corners to the mat with celo tape. Frame in good condition, with general wear.
