Description

Declaration Signer Benjamin Harrison Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 8" x 4"; Virginia; October 19, 1769. A brief letter to William Palfrey directing him to pay ten pounds sterling to the wife of Henry Leadbetter.

Benjamin Harrison (1726-1791) was a member of the first Continental Congress and signed the Declaration of Independence. He also served as the fifth governor of Virginia.

Condition: Tightly trimmed at sides, with flattened folds and some creasing. Toning and foxing throughout. Previous dealer's notes in pencil at top. Sarah Leadbetter has signed on the verso. Bit of wax remnant at top on verso.
